A prescription medicine that claims to treat hypertension is a therapeutic good and its marketing is regulated by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA), and the product listed on the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG). They are classified as high risk registered medicines.  Therapeutic goods classified as registered products are tested for safety, efficacy and quality.
